A private, not-for-profit corporation, Edsouth includes a Student Outreach Services (SOS) division that emphasizes early awareness to help students to realize their college potential and take full advantage of financial aid opportunities.
Choosing the right college or university is an important decision for high school students. Because of the unlimited resources available via the Internet, making the right choice can be confusing. eCampusTours is here to help. A unique college planning web site, eCampusTours includes virtual college tours of hundreds of college campuses. With 360° x 360° images, students can go inside the school library or sports arena and visit dormitories and classrooms - all with the click of a mouse.
college planning handouts
Handouts and sample letters are available for your use in educating students. The many college planning articles that are available on this site may also be saved, printed or forwarded to friends via e-mail. There are articles about college admission, choosing a college, campus life, career exploration and paying for college articles about financial aid, scholarships and student loans. Feel free to print any of these articles to use as handouts in your classrooms.
download free college planning resources
eCampusTours offers a variety of downloadable college planning resources to share with students and parents. Our video on "How to Get Money for College" is useful during college and career nights or as a warm-up before financial aid workshops, and our college funding guide booklets include information about the financial aid process and different sources of education funding.
tools for students and parents
eCampusTours assists students and parents in choosing a college and in their college planning by enabling them to save their favorite articles and virtual campus tours in an online profile. By creating a profile, they may register for a $1000 scholarship giveaway and register to receive Edadvisor, our free college planning newsletter and e-mail reminder service to remind them of financial aid deadlines. Once logged in, they can also contact college admissions offices and submit their general and academic information, and they will also have access to download a free copy of our college funding booklet.
continuing education opportunity in career counseling
Although the school counseling community has made great strides in recognizing the need for a specialized curriculum addressing career planning, many individuals serving in this capacity have not been formally trained in providing career assistance. To meet this need, the credential of Career Development Facilitator (CDF) has been established by the National Occupation Information Coordinating Committee (NOICC). Educational Training Associates, Inc. is particularly interested making this certification more accessible through its e-learning course, Facilitating Career Development.
